Introduction

Hello and welcome to my blog!

Today is 6th of October 2020 and you join me part-way through my journey to re-acquaint myself with ‘Abs and Friends……’

My ‘Abs’ (or abdominal muscles, or six-pack) have been invisible since my 20’s, hidden behind a layer of fat which hasn’t been helped by the fact that I’ve been sat behind a desk for 30+ years….

and the ‘Friends’ are those muscles we associate with a fit-looking upper body, typically the Pecs, Obliques, Shoulders and Upper Arms.

Some 6 months ago (shutdown – March 2020) I set out on a training and diet regime, using only relatively lightweight home equipment and careful nutrition, to lose weight and get in shape.

My stats from 19th March 2020 were as follows :

Weight 88Kg (13st 12lbs)

Body fat 17.2% (according to my electronic scales)

BMI 27.8

The same stats today are :

Weight 79Kg (12st 6lbs)

Body fat 12.6%

BMI 25.0

My weight is now at the top end of the ‘recommended’ range for my age and height (63yo and 5′ 10″, or 178cm). I’m quite happy to be in this area as I’m seeking to reduce fat and add muscle to get to my Body Fat Target, which is 10%.

I will be sharing everything I do to try to achieve this target (which I don’t even know is feasible at my age) including my choice of exercises, my food intake, and my supplement intake….and don’t worry any supplements are easily obtainable and completely legal.
